About Me

Education:  I graduated in 1995 from Central High School located in Norwood, Minnesota.  I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Life Science Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato.  I have since acquired numerous additional teaching licenses including; Earth Science, Life Science, and Chemistry (Grades 9-12), and Middle School Science (Grades 5-8).  In December 2009, I obtained my Masters of Science - Science Education from Bemidji State University.

Family:  I have three children - Kieran (17 years old), Luke (15 years old) and Alexandra (13 year old) who I generally call Lex or Lexy.  We have a very busy household with the boys spending as much time outside as possible and Lex doing her best to keep up with her older brothers.

Interests:  I belong to several professional societies like the Minnesota Science Teachers Association, National Science Teachers Association, Minnesota Geological Society, The Geological Society of America to name a few.  I am also currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Earth Science Teachers Association and the Minnesota Center for Mineral Resource Education.  My kids and I enjoy camping, including an annual week-long trip on the North Shore or the Gunflint Trail.  We also spend our time rooting for our favorite football teams, the Central Raiders and Minnesota Vikings.  One of these years the teams will make it all worthwhile for us!
